On February 11-14, 2017, within the framework of the festival week the contest of “special theaters’*” performances selected on the basis of the results of video versions was held (it takes place once in three years). The annual special theatre festival “Protheatre International Meetings” is a joint venture of V. Meierkhold Drama Center and ROO STR Krug. COALCO is the permanent sponsor of the Protheatre Festival.

In accordance with the theme of the year, the organizing committee invited Russian and foreign repertory companies. The IIIrd Annual Special Theatre Festival was dedicated to the body. At the festival, the contest-winning performances were shown and lab showings, master classes, lectures and “Maestros of the Stage to the Special Theatre” meetings with participation of Russian theatre directors and actors were held. Tickets were sold out to the best stage plays of Russian and foreign companies.
